The other side of moonlight...

The winter sky bursts at the seams
A celestial overflow of spilling stars
The crisp cool air stings my nose and ears
Countless fires above yet a chill on the wind

The moon has ventured near tonight
Her light so strong and yet sublime on one side
Hiding the other like a forgotten memory
The dark side of Clair de lune

An infinite game of imbalance we play us two
As I long to see what lies beyond the face she shows
And I wonder how far away I must fly
To break free of the pull of Earth

I pray to her, Shall I choose today or wait to receive
The benefit of the choices of another
Is there light beyond that which we see
I await in silence her reply

A single tear from heaven falls upon the dust
Leaving no empty space from whence it fell
Make a wish my love she whispers
And my heart becomes the evanescence of a dream
